How to Prepare for Your Mobile Notary Appointment

Have a current photo ID, your unsigned document, and every signer ready before the notary arrives. Here is the five-minute checklist we use for Phoenix appointments.

A mobile notary appointment usually takes 10 to 15 minutes. The parts that run long are almost never the signing itself. They are a missing ID, a document that was already signed, or a signer who is not in the room. Here is the short checklist we go through before we drive to you anywhere in the Phoenix metro.

What should I have ready before the notary arrives?

Four things:

1. The document, with your signature left off. 2. A current government-issued photo ID for every person signing. 3. Every signer, physically present. 4. A way to pay the notary fee.

That is the whole list. If you have those four, the appointment goes smoothly.

Should I sign the document before the notary gets there?

No. Leave it unsigned. Most notarial acts require you to sign in front of the notary, and a document that is already signed usually has to be reprinted and started over. If you signed already, do not worry. Tell us when you book and we will bring what we need or walk you through the fix.

What ID do I need?

A current driver's license, Arizona state identification card, passport, or military ID. The name on your ID should match the name printed in the document. If your ID is expired, lost, or you have no photo ID at all, tell us when you book. Arizona law allows other ways to confirm identity in some situations, and we would rather plan for it than turn around at your door.

Do all the signers have to be there?

Yes. Everyone whose signature is being notarized has to be present with their own ID. A spouse, agent, or family member cannot sign for someone else unless they hold a power of attorney that covers it, and even then their own name and role must appear on the document.

Where can the appointment take place?

Wherever it is convenient: your home, your office, a hospital room, a cafe, a title company conference room. We serve the Phoenix metro daily and travel across all fifteen Arizona counties. Bring a table, a chair, and a little privacy so you can read what you are signing without someone hovering over your shoulder.

How long does the appointment take?

A few pages usually take 10 to 15 minutes. A loan closing runs longer, often an hour or more, because there are many pages and each one needs attention. If you have a hard stop, say so when you book so we can plan the time.

What does it cost, and how do I pay?

Arizona sets the maximum a notary can charge for a notarial act at ten dollars per signature. Travel is quoted by distance, from one dollar to one hundred dollars, so an exact number comes from a quick phone call or your booking request. Loan signings and remote online notarizations are quoted for the whole assignment. Our pricing page explains each piece.

What if I need someone right away?

Call (602) 921-4091. We are around the clock Monday and Tuesday, and from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. the rest of the week. The booking form has an urgent option for appointments needed within two hours; a rush fee applies and we set it after we look at the job.
